“The history for these two teams is getting a bit long in the tooth. Four seasons running now they've shadowed each other - in fact, the Vanguard wouldn't know what the SWL is without looking across the group to find the Adepts steely resolve glaring back.
Their last three games have been epic battles, often with the premiership hanging by a thread. The situation was a little different this season, with both teams not having much to play for. Still, a whopping crowd of 137000 fans turned up for what they'd hope would be a great grudge match. Unfortunately the atmosphere just wasn't there. Late in the season (and late at night - sorry Flo!) the game turned out to be a bit of an anticlimax. The Adepts were worn out, and in hindsight, gave the game away with two out of character push decisions on the first two drives to be down 2-0. After that, it was catchup football which is always going to be risky for a top hat outfit.
The Disciple Shariputra had a game he'll probably want to forget - though its doubtful whether he has the capacity to remember it anyway! Looked vacant for most of the first half, and when he dropped like a sack of spuds trying to block in one of the Adepts' very first actions in the second half, the resulting turnover gave away a third try to the Vanguard and pretty much sealed the game.
The lads dont know if they'll see the Adepts again next season yet...we certainly hope so, and hopefully once again a premiership title will be on the line pumping it up for another epic battle!

Caused Hopp'n all sorts of trouble and ensured the Adepts' only try.
“The Adepts had celebrated their Premiership victory in traditional Zen fashion, by training twice as hard and pushing themselves to the limits.
It showed in their ame against the Vanguard as they were too tired to keep their eyes open! Dumb moves by the Zen boys were brutally punished by the always perfect elves and a 4-1 drubbing was the result.
The adpets were yet to beat the Vanguard and looked forward tp the day the two teams would meet again...
Twahnloes:
3pts: Twisted Skeins - This strangely named elf was all over the ball in this game, taking after the legendary Vanguard veteran, Blind Navigator.
2pts: Hopp'n Mc'Cauldron - Always where the Chaos Dwarves didn't want her to be was this wicked witch of the south.
1pt: Twilight Veil - Threatening from any where on the field this agile elf was again a thorn in the Adepts side. ”
