“How unlucky can you get? It all began in my first turn, when I got a "bad click" - ie. I accidentally made my blitzer Dodge, which he failed, and thus caused a huge opportunity for the Elves. They gave it away at first when Tulcakelumë fouled Ingalf and was sent off (Ingalf spent the rest of the match in the KO box). I could free the ball, and my Thrower tried to pick it up to pass it to my Catcher for a touchdown. But he failed the pick-up roll, the elves knocked him away and the Wardancer seized the ball and scored.
I then bashed my way along the left sideline, and it went pretty well. On turn 8, I was in a position from which I could score with ease. Just had to move my Minotaur before, who was standing next to a single Lineelf. He threw a block - and I rolled double pow/skull. Since K'Zhrr did not have Block yet, my scoring opportunity was screwed. To make things worse, while the Lineelf was just knocked prone, the Mino badly hurt himself! At least he had caused a casualty before, which earned him the SPP he needed to learn Block.
In the second half, I made my way towards the tying touchdown again, especially Bjarni had a great game as he caused two casualties in the process. Still, the Elves managed to break the ball loose, and to keep me from taking it back (I think he only failed one single Dodge roll in the entire game). Eventually, his WD leaped over some of my players, grabbed the ball (which was lying in two tacklezones), dodged away and ran. I couldn't stop him, and he scored the game-winner.
I now had some luck, but it was too late. The kickoff roll was "Throw Rock", and my fans threw one and stunned the central player on his LoS. Bjarni and one catcher blitzed forward in the right wide zone while three of my players secured the ball. He then immediately failed to dodge (for the first, and last time in this match), which allowed me to get the ball to Bjarni, and with 2 GFIs he carried it into the end zone.
There were three situations which decided the outcome of this match, and I "lost" each of them: the failed pick-up roll of my thrower (if he had succeeded, *I* would have scored most probably), the Minotaur's bitter failure, and his Wardancer's awesome Leap action. Yes, and my stupid Bad Click (TM) on turn 1. ARGH! I could have so won this match! Oh well. At least I got three casualties, and earned enough gold to buy a third blitzer. And K'Zhrr isn't likely going to blow simple actions again like today, now that he has Block...”
