Books I've read: Temeraire, Throne of Jade, Black Powder War, Empire of Ivory, Victory of Eagles, Tongue of Serpents, Crucible of Gold
Comments: It all started out so lovely. A gentleman captain from the British Navy paired with a young, intelligent dragon. The duo learn the customs of the British dragon military, and slowly discover the injustice of the institution while fighting a desperate war against Napoleon and his growing empire.
It all fell apart for me at "Tongue of Serpents" (horribly boring). "Crucible of Gold" did little to improve my spirits; the book was more interesting, but I simply didn't enjoy any of the plot choices. I did purchase "Blood of Tyrants", but I will approach it with low expectations; it will be my last Novik book if it also disappoints me.
