Artichoke, along with his brothers Apsaragus and Anchovie, joined the team after their disastrous 10th game, when 3 players were lost. The Inedible Brothers, as they were known - for no known reason - had been living on the streets, and coach Shigglez was hoping that their "street smartz" would help out on the pitch.

Artichoke was the youngest brother, and the protection he had grown up with, having two older siblings to watch his back, gave him a cheeky streak, which was sure to manifest itself on the pitch.
