Branko "Brane" Oblak started his career with the Olimpija Ljubljana (Slovenia) where he played 8 years long. His debut was against Partizan Belgrade (scoring both goals for a win). He was notable for his excellent dribbling, stamina, great vision and precision passing. 1973 he moved to Split and played just 2 seasons.(But very succesful ones, winning 2 doubles). In 1975 he signed a two-year contract with Schalke 04 (Germany) for what was a world record fee for that season. Playing there 2 seasons Oblak went to Bayern in 1977. 3 seasos at Bayern resulting in winning the Bundesliga once.
