Most take his name to suggest Yarek was once some prince, priest or some other person of import who fell to chaos. Really, so far as anyone can tell he was never anything but a peasant with a very poor sense of direction.
Said sense led him into the wastes, and eventually he turned to the worship of chaos in his own weird way.
Now his sense of direction serves on the Blood Bowl field, inevitably leading Yarek towards the nearest thing trying to squish him, a boon to his more valued teammates.
Lately all the directionless meandering has served a new purpose. He hasn't gotten any smarter, just much quicker at getting himself interminably lost... be it in the wilderness or on the pitch.
