Poor Meech, I find your concern about me more than a little disturbing. Yet again, you contribute nothing to the conversation other than confused stalkerish ramblings.

@WardenUSA:
too many people in the us really need to be told by *anyone* about what their country is doing in this world.
i've lived in the us for 2 years and (though i spent most time at a university) have found too many people just too ignorant of some well known facts.
of course, that happens with Germans, too ;-)

hey Wreckage, i think you really deserve that nick ;-)

as a fellow german i have to say: get your facts straight about our country, first (in response to your comment, below):

1. West-Germany hasn't been a protectorate till the 80s ;-)
2. sovereignity was (re-) established 10 years after the end of WW II, in 1955 through the Paris-Treaty
3. there were two provisos towards german sovereignity by the allies of WW II:
a. the right to station troops in Germany for self-defensive purposes
b. emergency-laws (Notstandsgesetze) to ensure safety for allied troops in case of emergencies

the right to station troops in Germany (3a) was cancelled only in 1991, when the Two-Plus-Four treaty was taking effect.

3b was cancelled in 1968, when Germany passed its own emergency-laws (Notstandsgesetze).

concerning the rest of your blog: well, i agree with some of the motives, but it's just not worth it to comment on that and too cumbersome to even try responding :-(

Don't worry Evo, I have hope that some day you will overcome your dreadful predictability. Like a moth to a flame, Burned by the fire. My love is blind, can't you see my desire?

If international and humanitarian law was every actually enforced fairly, a lot of the past American Administrations would be facing life sentences or the death penalty.

But apparently, actually enforcing U.S. law is too much to ask for in the Land of the Free.

re Arktoris:

I don't care what President Clinton's staff is alleged to have believed, there was no valid reason for President Bush to invade Iraq. There was no credible evidence of WMDs, and other western nations (France and Germany among them) where able to clearly point out this fact before the invasion.

The current war has put a measurable strain on the economy, and severely hurt the US reputation. Security is a bigger concern now than before the Iraq invasion.

To continue this rant...

We have not finished our job in Afghanistan, and it is likely that we have created a dire situation in Pakistan. Pakistan is a nuclear power, and if it becomes a failed state, this may provoke an unstructured war with Hindustan, another nuclear power.

Since we have failed in Iraq, we have given Iran more freedom in the region. They are now able to bend Iraq to their will, greatly upsetting Saudi Arabia and others. And when Iran has credible WMDs, we will not be able to be as bellicose since we have demonstrated a distaste for Arabian war.

For that matter, we are stretched too thin to really threaten North Korea. And it wouldn't surprise too many people if President Kim provokes a conflict as a means to avoid a revolution. He frequently practices brinkmanship, and the poverty situation in his nation is just getting worse (as is, likely, his health).

Sorry for the tangents, but the message is clear: There was no reason to enter Iraq. The day before we did, all of these reasons existed. This is not a case of hindsight being better than foresight. This is a case of ignoring the facts to push an agenda.

Ok, please redo this in German, and have someone translate. I mean seriously.. Asprin Fabric? Wreckage is an appropriate name for you, because your blogging ability is a giant f'n wreck.

I was going to pick apart piece by piece what you said, but honestly, it is not worth the effort. Asprin Fabric? I think reading it was too much effort.

dude, what brought this on??? People don't just spontaneously write e-novels on politics...unless their name rythmes with "steve-o".

Everything you wrote has been heard before years ago.

two areas I'd definitely disagree on are 7 and 9. 1995, Clinton's chief of staff told Bill "Iraq having weapons of mass destruction is a 'slam dunk' (slam dunk means "sure thing"). He was urging Clinton invade Iraq and dismantle them. The invasion of Iraq was being planned before Bush ever took office.

Bush did what he did because he truly believed the USA was in dire danger. That is why he broke ties and treaties...to get a necessary action done. You think the ecomony is bad now...think what it would be like if 6 million people were to die suddenly right now from a nuclear bomb...or military biobomb. Serious stuff calls for politically incorrect action. unfortunately, in the later years, I'd agree that things got derailed...and became more about war profiteering.

oh yeah, on point #10. The war isn't started over some little buildings falling...it started because AlQueda told us it's only the beginning. We will not stop, until America becomes a river of blood.

so yeah, Epic fail.

There are many reasons why USA stands for the Uneducated Slaves of America...

Epic Fail.

No idea what you were trying to say. The rambling run-on sentences, poor grammar, horrible lack of punctuation, and gross misspellings made my head hurt. It is quite possible that I agree with you, but the world will never know.

"i think, writing the truth is a bad idea when its kind of unpleasent... "

Excuse me?

Going for an epic fail?

uhm.. yes...plorg... the headline doesnt seem quite right and the content is probably a litlle too colorfull... thanks for the headsup

Methinks the "Why" of #10 has more to do with longtime US support of Israel.
Hard for me to disagree with the rest of your list though.
Posted by Wreckage on 2009-03-06 02:30:56
well if you want to look at it from that triangle...

maybe you should consider that...

i happen to live in the original US-Sector of Germany... in the 80s when i was a small kid and went to school, Westgermany still officially was a protectorate..not a souverain state...... inofficially the Allies had given the control back to the Germans quite a while ago... however their funny idea of "Denazification" caused in the end a very criticial education, that halted over many years in the history books of the pupils... you could say being German makes me more qualified to talk about this ;)..

hhh ... nvm
