Sabine Lüber is one of the people, who have been with the organization for a long time, as she joined the team at the same time as Bjarne Riis took over in 2000.
”Bjarne wanted a female soigneur on the team, so Alex Pedersen contacted me and asked if I was interested, and I said yes,” says Sabine.
Before joining Team CSC Lüber had worked for four years as a physical therapist at German Team Nürnberger as well as at a private clinic. She became a physical therapist almost straight after having finished school.
”I've worked in the cycling sport all my adult life really. Before that I also used to race myself from I was seven till I was about 18, where I had to quit because I didn't have the time anymore. Now I run instead,” says Lüber, who has completed her first marathon and a half marathon in Luxembourg.
”I'm the best runner ever!” laughs Lüber and continues, ”No, I'm joking, but I do like running a lot and I did my marathon with Kim Andersen and a couple of other guys from the team.”
