Denis Law (born 24 February 1940)
1962-73, 398 starts, 237 goals
Law was the original King of Old Trafford and with George Best and Bobby Charlton he formed United’s Holy Trinity. Law, the 1964 European Footballer of the Year (The only Scottish player ever to have won it), just could not stop scoring and he was never short of opportunities playing alongside Charlton and Best.He helped his club win the First Division in 1965 and 1967 though was having a knee operation when United lifted the European Cup for the first time in 1968, but his phenomenal 237 goals in 398 starts will always assure him of legendary status at Old Trafford. Law is also United's second highest goalscorer behind Bobby Charlton and he holds a United record for scoring 46 goals in a single season.
