Splash was actually rescued from a lake when the team was badly lost one time.

As the team sat down to fish, with clubs, hands, rods, their toes and noses as well as small nets, Splash was caught from the lake.
Splash guided the team back to their destination, albeit a few days late, and was taken into the team.

There is still a furious argument going on who actually managed to catch him, as he is the only thing the team has been able to lift from any body of water.
