Nikola played in the early years of football and Hajduk. In the time between 1913 and 1921 he played 91 games for Hajduk and scored 106 goals. He striked his last goal at the day of his death versus Zagreb, as he died of late stage tuberculosis after an epic performance against the opponent.
He is the first Hajduk player with more than 100 goals scored.
