As a ghoul, he had always yearned for eternal life, envying those other players who died, then just regenerated and returned to play again. He earned his reward through amazing play throughout the season, especially in the final match, making a last minute pickup in traffic and a long pass to secure the lead. Then, in overtime, he tucked the spiked ball under his arm and ran straight for the end zone. He scored the winning touchdown, then kept running, straight to the royal box and King Settra, handing him the game ball. In return he eagerly accepted the elixir of immortality and downed his destiny in a single quenching gulp.
