Sir Dawaine "The Black Knight" was the final member to join the mercenary warband which eventually beame the Blood Bowl team "Stompin Stuff". He is a founding member of the team along with other exiled knights Sir Loin, Sir Ballzitch, and Sir Ballzack. His title is not due to the colour of his armor, but of the unusally dark colour of his skin. He hailed from a noble tribe of savage warriors deep in the uncharted southern lands. He joined the Emperor's service as a mercenary and was knighted by the Captain of the Reiksguard for conspicuous savagery and ruthless slaughter in a battle against Ork invaders from Dungcragge. Although a knight, he was never accepted in the high courts of the Empire, due to the peculiar colour of his skin. Always full of anger and defense of his honor, Sir Dawaine took great offense to this prejudice. He decided to defy his vows to the Reiksguard and pledge his soul to Khorne, the Chaos God of blood and slaughter. Together these four knights made a pact to spread their anger accross the pitches of the Bloodbowl colosseums in the name of their brutal God.
