Ump got his name due to his being seriously injured in "Stompin Stuff"s first game. It was the sound he made when he hit the ground, so they just called him that (due to the inability to really communicate with beastmen, the Four Knights typically just use simple gestures and grunt noises in order to lay out the battle plans). Ump seems to have recovered, although he had to miss the second game due to getting hit on his head too hard. The cultists chanted vile prayers and made sacrifices of Blood and Skulls to the Blood God for him to make a speedy recovery, and it seems their dark rituals worked. Ump is back on his feet and volunteered as "Knuckle Fodder" for the time being due to his having missed a game.
