Lannin was amongst the first miners to arrive in Irongirdle following the erection of Stonegrinder Stadium. Due to the requirements of stone for the (at the time) vastly lacking community growing around the venue, Lannin started prospecting for a good rock vein to excavate to supply the town. This mine went on to become Stonegrinder Deeps, the most successful stone mine within a hundred leagues and rumour has it that Black Diamonds found here funded the teams wages for the first few months!
