Visiting Japan during the end of he Meiji period, he ultimately befriends Ry?nosuke Naruhod?, the ancestor of renowned lawyer Phoenix Wright. Several times throughout the Naruhodo's cases, he accompanies him to various crime scenes. Then, when he thinks he has discovered a capital clue, he shows off his deductive reasoning skills in a step-by-step breakdown of some key aspect of the crime or the suspect’s hidden motives.
