Background

Froena once told me that if I were to write a pithy biography of her for a small media outlet, she would pull my tongue out of my head and strangle me with it, for my insolence in writing about her. The Tallspire family are a proud clan of writers, historians and lawyers, and each member has undertaken to write their own autobiography, without the assistance of ghostwriters or third parties, for nearly a millenia. However, we may have to make an exception in this case; Froena is the first of her distinguished family to refuse to learn how to read.

Froena was as fiery on the Bloodbowl field as she was in her defiance to learn basic literacy. Picking up three serious injuries in her five-game career, including a broken skull that permanently weakened her resilience, and her ultimate death, she epitomised all of the honour, courage and red mist-cloaked rage her family had weaved sonnets about but never actually experienced themselves. She met her end against the High Elf Washington Heights Ballers, a narrow 3-2 defeat.
