Okay. Let me just preface this by saying that I am a crumb cake fiend & have been on a sweet tooth crumb cake & cinnamon roll kick lately. My absolute favorite that I somewhat recently discovered was Entenmann's Little Bites Crumb Cake muffins. They are so incredibly good, they're addicting. Then, I happened to see these & thought I'd give them a try. They almost taste just like the Little Bites, only the shape & texture make it taste slightly different. And these are a bit more difficult to eat.
When I first got the package and looked in, I thought I received large cookies by mistake. They are individually wrapped, and the cake part does fluff up more once you unwrap them. They truly are delicious, but the one problem I have with these is that if you pick it up to try to eat it like a cookie, it falls apart easily, and the crumb cake topping falls off easily too. But even still, they are really good.
Now, in comparing these Entenmann's Crumb Cakes with Entenmann's Little Bites Crumb Cakes [muffins] (4 little cake-muffins per each individual pouch), I definitely prefer the little bites hands-down. They are very easy to hold & eat, more crumb cake topping per mini cake, and they don't fall apart like the large ones do. I think all of the aforementioned combined is what makes the little bites taste better. This is not to say I would turn these down by any means, as I said before, these larger cookie-shaped cakes are still very good. Also, if you're grabbing either one for an on-the-go snack, I definitely recommend the little bites for this purpose. And, oh my goodness... they are even more heavenly. Too good.
If you love cinnamon crumb cakes, I definitely recommend giving these a try. As well as their Little Bites version. When I get the chance, I will measure the diameter of these large crumb cakes. I will also take pictures of the little bites when I get them next. Hopefully soon because I really need to bring my sweet tooth kick to a close & revisit my nemesis we call a diet ;-)
In the meantime, I will try to upload a couple or so pictures I took, attempting to show what these are like.
Bon appétit!
