The Von Blitzalots were once a wealthy family, with land and titles, until Dieter Von Blitzalot bankrupted the family through an illegal Blood Bowl betting ring 2 generations ago.
The Von Blitzalot's fortunes changed with Baron's father, Jean Paul. A passing trader named Swindly Jim explained to Jean Paul the theory of Self Fulfilling Prophecy. Jean Paul took the theory to heart and decided to name his son "Baron" in the hope that he would grow up to own land and restore the Von Blitzalot name.
Baron never did acquire any land, but Sigmar help anyone who trespasses in his tacklezone.
