Julius Malema is a South African member of parliament, and the founder and leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters political party. He was recently sworn in as a member of the pan-African parliament.
He was a president of the ANC Youth from 2008-2012 and a member of the ANC until his expulsion in 2012. He has been called both a "future leader" of South Africa (by President Jacob Zuma), and a "reckless populist" by his detractors.
