As a musician of colour, Bill Theisz had been largely ignored and his achievements downplayed or ascribed to the white musicians claiming the limelight. As such, not much more than his name and his skill at the xylophone are known.
After death, Bill found that skin colour is only skin deep. Literally. When his flesh had completely peeled back from the bone, the colour distinction disappeared and he found himself treated just like anyone else - as an autonomously functioning xylophone.
