Despite what one might think, Dig Deep Mining Co was not always the shining beacon of commerce it is today. It was the spring of 1678, and Matrac McMillionaire found himself face to face with a serious problem; aging infrastructure in the mine had left effective mining yields at an all time low, while work related injuries had reached an all time high. Faced with a dearth of healthy workers and no spare capital to revitalize his business, Matrac faced the very real threat of company-wide insolvency.

Insolvency, however, was not to be Matrac's legacy.

Searching for a solution and nearly out of funds, Matrac placed a final call for help in the local gazette advertising openings for new mine overseers as well as investors. His response came in the way of a traveling businessman named Mr. Natas who, upon seeing his desperation, offered Matrac the deal of a lifetime. In exchange for shares of the company and the furthering of undisclosed personal interests Mr. Natas agreed to not only become Dig Deep Mining Co's first Risk Management Consultant (a position he has held ever since) but also agreed to singlehandedly finance the much needed mine renovations, setting the stage for Dig Deep Mining Co's renewed prosperity ever since.

Today, Mr. Natas continues his role as both a consultant and confidant to Dig Deep Mining Co, reporting directly to the company CEO to keep production tirelessly on track year after year after year.
