Alex Guzman struggled to find his niche in Season 1. He was brought on board after Van Antwerp realized that he was going to need some new personnel. But Guzman took a grievous injury to the knee in the Toad-Men's
second time facing the Thrashers. This injury put him out a game, but also stunted his growth as a player for the long term. Van Antwerp began to see Guzman as a liability to his starting line, and #14 was forced to take the bench until the late moments of the second half most games.
Guzman is looking to stick it out. A few opportune moments on the right day could turn the fate of his career for the better. It's going to be rough though: the Toad-Men enter a Season II Beenis League full of ruthless villains, and Van Antwerp is going to be reluctant to put a beat-up rookie like Guzman up against the scariest lines of scrimmage on this side of the Kris River.
Either way, Guzman is just happy to be here. "Why complain when we're winning games, right? Better than being benched with the Rats."
