Oliver was excited to try out for the Numb Brains during their first-ever recruitment wave. However, he was turned down because Jasper hadn't seen anything noteworthy in him. When he found out that there was some last minute recruitment before the team's first game, he lubricated his body to be more difficult to block on the field. His plan worked, but because he had devised his plan in a hurry he had not thoroughly lubricated. After his recruitment, he lubricates himself before every game, but refuses to do it thoroughly, believing that it would be bad luck to lubricate more than at his tryouts, and more likely for the ref to notice.
