The oldest member of the crew and the second-in-command, Shiren Mo was said to have held off a dozen sailors in a last-ditch effort to give the captain a chance to escape - it was ultimately a failure, Shiren Mo's leg was torn to shreds and as his mates all ran for their lives, the Cathayan forces simply left him for dead.
Hours later, the ogre was found again during a routine check of the ship, still heavily bleeding, but alive - he was taken to be processed along with the other crew survivors, and miraculously survived a very ''creative'' amputation operation by a group of overly zealous Cathayan soldiers with a lot of curiosity in sharp implements and little respect for pirates.
Fairly intelligent and collected for an Ogre, he took it all in stride and survived until his scheduled execution in the capital, only to be transferred to the official Cathay team along with other of his fellows - Shiren is thought to have nothing but contempt for the captain that got the crew massacred, and then sold them all to secure his own life, but he is not much of a speaker, besides when captain's orders need to be loudly shouted, and his loyalty to the crew is absolute.
As strong as any ogre, he suffers phantom pains - or, possibly, very real ones - as a result of the amputation, and his mobility is heavily hampered; it is said that sometimes, the memory of the immense punishment that was brought upon him overwhelms his mind, and he can do nothing but mindlessly take swings at people around him, taking no more steps until it passes. At the best of days however, he is still a killing machine, after years of passing down and placing orders, perfectly suited for team play and quick decision making.
