Fend is one of those skills where the more you have, the better it gets. One or two Fend will get use, but four are downright frustrating. Use Fend to hold the edge against Frenzy, to prevent following into assists on secondary blocks, or to prevent following out of contact on the blitz.
Shadowing is often put out as the stereotypical "bad skill" because it doesn't work very often. However, when it does work sometimes it can be game-breaking. It's important to remember you don't have to use it, and to evaluate each use before making the roll.
I typically cut Shadowing players but in this case I decided not to, because he has Fend, and I can see the combination working in tandem to create strange dilemmas sometimes.
