Neider was somehow awarded an MVP in a game in which he was the only Bomber to never touch the ball or throw a block... Some scoffed at this, but it was his defensive playing, holding off the opposition while his teammates made the plays, that earned him the award. He became well known as the strongman on the team, but was badly injured by an ugly foul and was pulled from the roster.
