She was locked into a Shallyan Monastery at the age of 4 and started as an initiate of Shallya. At the age of 16 she became a Shallyan Nun and started her Theology studies to achieve the status of Priestess.... but then, fate took its' place in her destiny. A group of women had formed a blood bowl team called Middenheim Matrons and needed a healer to the team. Maria was recruited but after two years she was asked to join the team since she had "the moves".
It didn't take long for a women team to get smashed into pieces, but Maria survived and decided to form a peaceful Blood Bowl team called Shallyan Sisterhood. Even since she has been the captain of the team and has received the title of Virgin Mother from the Shallyan Church.
