The King's relationship with his son is somewhat shaky; compliments towards him are rare and subtle when they appear, and the King is somewhat callous in giving his son Royal Presents. He offers the Prince little comfort if the Prince fails in a task, and is even known to have trouble recognizing him among his many, very different-looking cousins.
