With perhaps the best throwing arm to ever emerge out of Eckenwald Forrest, Bert was easily recognized as a potential star by Scruffy, Da Gobbo Manager, while scouting for players during a raid on the human village of Eckendorf.
Bert displayed a good throwing arm as he pounded the human fort with rocks and when he then continued on to knock the wall down with an impressive headbutt, Scruffy knew he had to sign a contract with the troll.
