Michael Buttertop Jr. is the son of the infamous original thrower of the Amazing Mediocres, Michael Buttertop Sr. The elder Buttertop had a tough time picking up and throwing the ball, and once he became injured, he was replaced by his son, who by all scouting reports is better than his father. The jury is still out on whether Junior will live up to expectations.

[[Game 20]]
Michael Buttertop Jr. was carted from the field today on a stretcher with serious injuries. The news from the team doctor wasn't good. Michael had suffered at the hands of a vengeful pro elf. The head coach appeared before the reporters and said, "I regret to inform you all that Michael Buttertop Jr. did not survive his injuries.." Fans of the Amazing Mediocres lamented the loss of a rising star. The story may not be over, however. Some sources claim the apothecary did succeed and Michael is safely living in a place called Harvestville, living out his life in peace and quiet.
