Eddie "Double Dribble" Samson is the third thrower for the Amazing Mediocres. There are bets going on in casinos across the nation wondering how long Eddie will last. Fans that have attended practice have booed him heavily, but the fans have reason to be upset. The first thrower, Buttertop, was notorious for fumbling the ball, and Buttertop Junior was killed by an elf when his star was on the rise. Eddie got his nickname from his time on the basketball court where he was called for a record number (11,418) of double dribble turnovers. The head coach has already had to tell him to stop dribbling the football and carry it.

While only having completed one pass in three games, Double Dribble has earned the respect of his teammates after knocking out a rampaging troll in a 2-1 victory over some chaos beasts. Inspired by his own performance, Double Dribble went out and spent his week's earnings on a new pair of basketball shoes. They don't make him play better. They just look brighter.

DD, as his fans have been starting to call him, made an impressive show against a rotter team in a 3-1 loss. While the team didn't win, DD completed a pass in a sea of FA, which in itself, is a feat worth mentioning.
[[Game 32]]
Scoring his first touchdown today, DD has become a reliable part of the Mediocres offense. Unfortunately, due to injuries and worse, DD has also had to play defense, something he is not used to and isn't ready for. When interviewed after a 3-0 win against an opposing chaos team, DD said, "I'm gonna be the best thrower the Mediocres ever will have. Book it, bitch."
[[Game 33]]
The curse of the Mediocres' thrower is alive and well. DD, while a favorite of the fans, has developed clumsiness. The head coach, outraged at having to wait for another thrower, told reporters that DD has pulled lineman duty. DD fans everywhere are sad.
[[Game 37]]
After a disappointing 2-1 loss against another human team, DD decided to hang up his cleats. Citing irreconcilable differences with the head coach, he tendered his resignation from the team. He returned to the sport he loved, basketball, coaching a 7th grade team in the Midwest.
