To stop a post from bumping a thread on /tg/ (or any other section of the image board) one merely has to put the word 'sage' into the email field (pronunciation of which is a legend unto itself). Stemming back from a time before /tg/'s birth, sage had become a tool mostly used for the purposes of being insulting to a thread even though not bumping something that is on the front page is not really worthwhile.
This is where Sage Guy comes in, though this is but one of the names given to an entity that is many people it is the only name that can be written in here without offending anyone. Regardless of whether the thread has actual merit or not, the Sage Guy will make himself known, stating why they're saging or derailing an entire thread into arguing about whether or not he should actually respond to threads he doesn't like or make his own content. The simple touch of blue on the username in the post is such an effective tool that no one can ignore it, and is precisely why Sage Guy is the third ogre of the bunch.
