The orks figured it might bring them some luck getting some huge funny thing to jump around and say slogans like "Ehhh wassdat?!, wasdat! DATS DER BALL DATS IS!" and "BARGH Me hungry you be food small goblin!".
But soon they got rather tired of that thing's stupid ramblings and discovered it wasn't an orc in a large silly mascot costume but actually a troll.
And thus they thought, "hey he be really big guy, less put'm on der team n' stuff!".
About 15 games later and many cases of "duh, uhh, ehh, hmm? *scratch chin* me no see goblin!" they started to resent the fact, that although large and strong, the troll mostly just stood around doing nothing!
But through an act of an invisible Deus Ex Maskina it began to brighten up and has since then started to help it's mates with remarks to it's opponents on the lines of "you hit him me hit you BIG!" and "heh, me no stupid see *knocks on helmet* me know dat's a block!"
