Lars Michaelsen is probably known to all Danish cycling fans for his long and glorious career, which ended in spring 2007 following an 11th place in Paris-Roubaix, where he for the second year in a row helped a teammate to victory.

After Paris-Roubaix Lars became a part of the team administration and after about six months in this role he will soon be moving on to a new one as a sports director starting in the spring of 2008.

His professional career stretched over 14 years and began in 1994 at Catavana Corbeil, where he won Paris-Bourges already in his first year with the team. The year after he celebrated the biggest triumph of his career with the victory in Gent-Wevelgem and in 1997 with TVM he took the golden jersey in Vuelta a Espana after winning the first stage.

Michaelsen won 14 victories during his career with teams like Francaise des Jeux, Team Coast as well as Catavana Corbeil and TVM before joining Team CSC in 2003.
