Iarl was the one exception of the team's policy of facing death on the field being the only way to retire. After suffering a punch to the head, Iarl fell unconscious. According to the apothecary, Iarl had been struck dead fron the blow, but this was quite the contrary. While the rest of the tribe mourned his passing by raiding the nearest brewery, Iarl promptly awoke within the arms of his mourning wife.

Upon the return of Ullric and the rest of the team, they were surprised to see Iarl wondering amongst the tribe once more, very much alive and breathing. Unfortunately though, due to being stricken from the roster and having a reputation to live up to, he was not allowed to rejoin the Northern Nasty Brawlers. Despite this setback, Iarl then chose to wonder around the local villages to find a job. He has recently taken up the career of working in a toy store dedicated to making plushy Blood Bowl Celebrities and monsters.
