Brave or foolish? I think I'll go with desperate.

Imagine:

You're a poor little gobbo. Most of your team has already been wiped out bye a legion of mighty orks. "Lets stay backfield" you'd think. Hmmm. Think again. the orcs keep rushing towards your endzone. What's left of gobbos all jump together on their enemy ball carrier. He falls.
The ball bounces aroud.....
And ends up in your hands. You run like mad, no way out! Damn ball! A legion of orcs charges you, a Black Orc taller than a mountain try to grabs the ball while your litlle hands are clenched to it by fear, and litteraly throws you in the crowd....

Well, at least your blood wasn't spilled for nil. It actually made the ball so slipperish ( gobbo slang ) that the Orcs failed every attempt to pick it up for the rest of the half.
