Game 150 was a milestone approached with some trepidation. Bru Talphister found any opportunity to miss a match with repeated absenses due to a pulled groin. Rather than going blind he was forced to the stadium for the auspicious occasion, as Socrates had found where the Super Star was hiding. Socrates murmurred a few words of persuasion, and Talphister was convinced to play.
All wondered if the Star in the making had accepted his fate, as the Sons 150th game would need a sacrifice in honour of Nuffle, and the book makers certainly had Talphister as favourite. When the number 5 shirt was seen face down in mud at the end of the first half the worst was expected.
Much to the dismay of the fans, a cunning ruse had been put in play. Before the game Talphister swapped armour with rookie Phil Degap. Bru had cheated death, and the all human affair vs the American Gladiators confused Nuffle. The Sons stole a 2-1 victory after a vicious display of misdirected misfortune. Will Nuffle favour the bold, or will his fury be felt in the coming games?
Update: Bru Talphister was torn to pieces by the fans in SoB game 159. Some say it was the Human Fan's angry that Talphister had avoided death in game 150, others simply right it off as another example of Chaos Hooliganism. Either way the Apothecary could not recover the body, and Talphister's next appearance is likely to be at a local Pieshop.
