Most of the Demons have joined by choice - either sought out the band, or joined after being spared and set free. Drake's policy is nearly unwavering - kill without hesitation - and yet he hates to waste a good fighter, and so he'll spare any who make him curious.

Ferris Firewalker is the exception.

Drake is no fool - he knows that a band of stone cold killers and expert thieves can't survive without support. Ferris Firewalker is possibly the fastest elf in known world. His reputation is minor, after all no one really cares, and Drake first encountered him while burning a small town to the ground after looting the treasury. Drake and the Demons set fires on all sides of the town concurrently, and stood grimly by as the ring of fire moved towards the center. Much to Drake's surprise, a lone figure streaked through the wall of flame, moving so fast that the flame seemed to waver in his path. This elven blur was none other than Firewalker himself. Drake motioned, and the Devil-Eye felled Ferris with a single glance. They carried the unconscious elf with them as the town burned, and pressed him into service. Drake has cooly assured him that he'll be well treated, and extremely dead if he should ever try to escape. Although at first he dreamed of freedom, he has become accustomed to his place as the perfect advance scout of the Demons.
