The island of Lyonesse was bequeathed by the crown of Bretonnia not long after the formation of DLE2020 to the Knights Outremer. Due to a series of natural disasters setback the Hendaye Barracuda franchise part way through the first season the team needed a new home. Initially, the Brionne Admirals hosted the team at their stadium. However, the Barracudas needed a more permanent solution, especially since they were renting the stadium and were close to insolvent despite performing well on the field. The Knights of Outremer, though independent, still swore fealty to the King of Bretonnia due to Lyonesse being within the borders of the nation. The Knights Outremer were initially formed during the Crusades to provide succor for Estalian lands under foreign control. However, they had also established the first banks. They would safeguard valuables in exchange of a note that could be turned in to retrieve said items, oftentimes gold. Needless to say, the Knights Outremer are flush with cash and have diversified their investment portfolio across time. They are currently attempting to fund expeditions into the Darklands and furnish the conquered territory with a network of fortifications and castles. It was a good opportunity to purchase a blood bowl franchise, a profitable industry to join in, and they could pay above the asking price to close the deal. As a result, the team has been rebranded as the Lyonesse Crusaders. They built Chateau du Champ du Lion with the aid of master gnomish architects whom employed ogres with a good meal as compensation for the duration of the project. Although, the ogres at times mistook the gnomes for gnoblars on occasion, which is to say, workplace accidents certainly occurred. The gnomes claim that they could have covered the field in a type of oblong field, and even retract the ceiling through some arcane mechanism, but the Knights Outremer decided that it was too costly and they were better off with a traditional field. Having been purchased by the Knights Outremer they have installed a new coach Gridironman. The Crusaders have been drilled into being as aggressive as a wedge of knights atop their destriers breaking into the backlines of their opponents on defense and attempting to score at will on offense.
