A team inspired by the discussions on TBB about dropping gobbo's from the orc roster. I'm obvoiously on the side of keeping them as I think they are great. The 2 aims of this team are 1) Never hire any Lineorcs. 2) At all times have all 4 goblin positions filled. if we have the money we will hire stars but this will definitely be before going lfg Game #1 - a 1-0 win over dwarfs. Starman was Paul , very much thx to being buzzing, frenzy is great. The poor gobbos did very little except for some great fouling after getting the ref in the 1st half. Sadly 2 S.I on gobs , meant Eleanor Rigby was retired with a niggle and leaves the team short of players for game 2. Pretty much as expected vs so much tackle. Game #2 - a 2-1 win over a depleted(10) d.elf team. A most amusing match with 2 deaths in a single turn, 1 per team. A battle of attrion with a S.I(-1MA) on a freebootered goblin before a freebooterred blz stle the show with a cas and winning TD. The teams firstskill went to Lucy afterher 2nd TD in 2 games. Again the gobbos did very little, 2 injuries and a ending off ensuredthey were offthe field atthe start of the 2nd half. Game #3 The teams first defeat, surely of many, going down 2-1 to a fellow tribe of greenskins. Highlight of the match was the equalising TD scored by a flying gobbo. Then the stunt was repeatedby the opposition to quickly regain the lead. Another 2 SI tho, yet another gobbo and sadly the teams star thrower Lucy. So far the yare holdingtogether but the casualties are starting to take a high toll on the team. Only 8 fit fullysigne players or game #4 - oh oh. Newsflash - ina determined effort not to sign any lineorcs, even for a single match the management have gambled on the signing of scrappa sorehead and fungus the loon to drag the team through their next mach. Further news of this audacious move when we get it. Game #4 - In a sense the ploy of hiring stars workes. Sadly the match was lost fairly convincingly with the BT rarely even threatening to core nd only a failed GFI preventing a 3rd vamp TD. HOwever the only lasting injury was the death of Fungus. 1 goblin even finished the match on the field. The 70k winning went on a back u thrower so we are back to 11players wit hno freeboots for the next game, yay. 2 skills with John gaining guard and Rino block. No doubles or stats yet but fingers crossed. Game #5 - A return to wining ways against another bunch of green skins.. A sloppy first half with the team unable to protect the ball carrier on 2 occasions but they kept moving onwards but couldn't make it so 0-0 at the half. Something must have been added to thehalf time drinks as 2 blitz kick off returns led to an unassailable 2 TD lead. Despite a late burst from the opposition the BTs recorded heir 3rd win. Importantly for the team Mr Kite scored his first TD and became the first goobo to gain a skill. Sadly no doubles came so it was side step. Game #6 - A sloppy performance against a high elf team. Again poor protection of teh ballcarrier led to their downfall, not helped by the injuring of 2 and the sending off of a 3rd gobbo leaving the team down to 8 players. Sadly the slow drive up th field for a consolation score in the 2nd half just peterred out short of the line due to bad time management bythe coaching staff who got a hell of a shock with the half ending before they expected. Game #7 - another up on this rollercoaster ride. The greens steamrollerred their wy into a 2 TD lead by half time against a more experienced chaos side only to spemd the 2nd half pinned back unable to move the ball forward mainly due to a lack of manpower with the foolish troll spending a lot of the game unconcious in the dugout.. Mean Mr Mustard scored the 2nd TD to gain 6spp and a new skill(catch) before a vicous off the ball atatcke resulted in his death. Thankfully a useful apo was stillabout so he retuned t tell the tale. Game #8 - the upward trend continues against an unhappy chaos dwarf team, sadly at the cost of a goblin life :(. Star of the day has to be MR Kite for an unbelievable jinking run through the opposition line, ignoring the pouring rain to grab the ball from under the nose of a poor hobgobi who could only orlornly chase after the triumphant little fellow. Happily a replacement has already been signed along witha 4th blitzer. Game #9 - the teams first outing vs Humans. A great advert for BB. The humans swarmed all over eh brave greenskins in the first half managing toblitz the ball free only inches short of their own endzone before Ringo returned the favour, springing the ball free for Jon to rush in and grab the bll for the TD. The 2nd half started with an almighty ruckus in the centre before a flanking move was brought to a shuddering halt by the combined actions of Billy Shears and thenowhere man, Go gobbos. Anotherruck ended withthe humiesagain springing the ballfree via a crowdpush but the desperate late passng play coudn't quite rescue the draw. Game #10 - another all green scrum down. A textbook drive down the left wing gave the tribute a 1-0 lead beore the halftime refreshments before the skulls took over control of the Rage. With a fumbled pass allowing the chance of a turnover we were soon off like a bunch of pansy elves ,running away from the fight towards the TD. Player of the match oes to the brave B.ORC on the opposition who managed 2 accurate passes only to find his team mates in capable of catching the perfectly flighted ball to deprive him of a hard earned skill. On the gobbo side of things a non even with only one on the pitch at a time. Mr Kite was successfully throw but couldn't get hold of the ball to run in a 3rd TD. Later claims the others had been busy drugging the opposition are still unproven. Newsflash - For a bit of added excitement 2 stars have been hired for our next match. This time its bomber and nobbla adding some variation and hopefully some blood. :) Game # 11 - A bit of a disaster. Nobbla was on the pitch for 2 turns and in his one attack failed to touch the poor victim. Overall a vicous lesson in just how powerful wardancers can be , especially with AG5. A measure of revenge was had when the freak of nature was briefly plunged into the afterlife only for an inconsiderate apo to draghis sorry soul back into this spiritual plane. Bloody elves - should all be shot. Man of the match goes to Ringo for the teams first interception. Game #12 A match up against what would have to be classed as one ofthe more agile dwarf teams ( this is oviously compared to other runts teams) Some powderpuff hitting from the unlucky dwarfs allowed an opening TD after a running maul down the left before an excelent pass and run levelled for the little fellas. At this crucial moment stepped up our hero , Nowhere man who was sumarilly tossed into the EZ togive the grrens a half time lead. While stretching to equalise the dwarfs left the ball carrier open to a blitz and from then on it was match over as the bll was swiftly caged and ground up the pitch to add a 3rd TD on turn 16. Game #13- the tribute decide to show the world what they are made of an enter a FUMBBLSMACK event. Drawn against Unbemalt III they forced the match into OT only to be outnumbered and rolled over. A late attempt to force it to a coin toss collapsed when Billy Shears was devoured by the Fool on the Hill :). Total cas count was 1 dead gobbo , 3 SI (nothing permanent) and2 BH (one apo'd on Ringo). A fun game though despite the defeat Game #14 was a 2nd Pro SMACk. Failure again though as a blitzng BulCentaur scored the matchwining TD with the final move of the game :( A TD for Nowhere man and MVP for Mr Kite after he was bravely tossed downfield in the search for a 2-1 advantage. Strangely no cas , mmm puzzling. Nobbla did well , KOing the opposition danger man but sadly on for about 3 turns in which they scored anyway. Muchos fun though. Games 17 and 18 were a Pro Fumbblsmack , #17 a bruising win over a 10 man chaos team, #18 a bruising defeat against a largr chaos team. Good fun but little gobbo action of note. Nobbla did a wee bit of damage in the first match but tred to sign for noth teams in game 2 ruling him out completely. The bad news due to injuries and poor winning the team were left with only 9 players and NO GOBBOs!! for their next fixture. Wound up by the lack of little fellas the 9 man tidal wave of green crashed through the unfortunate elves of Freshbreeze utd causing 2 RIPs and a niggle om their way to a traditional 2-1 orc victory with both scores coming in turn 8. After the mng both gobbos are back next game :) |
