Deeply dissatisfied with the stagnating state and the oppressing foul traditions prevalent in their society these cheerful youngsters decided - led by raging punk-philosopher Itor - to form a blood bowl team to carve a piece that they might deem suitable out of the old world. And they want a lot. Their solid play and ball-handling skills soon attracted the attention of various professional magazins and sponsors, resulting in their signing up with the occult wizard society of T.O.P.Y., mysterious keepers of arcane knowledge. They repeatedly state that they are fully aware of the irony that they, as proponents of an essentially anti-magickal race, are sponsored by a wizard order, yet punk-philosopher Itor doesn't tire to express his conviction that "this kinda paradox is only suitable for tha new age that's coming". Their first couple of games can only be described as extremely successful, they managed to maintain and even expand their large body of fans, trained a younger dwarf team in the finesse and brutality that is blood bowl, sent various opponents home with bloody noses, yet ironically their most remarkable point of their history turned out to be their first (and so far only) defeat. This took place when they, upon experiencing the ruthless dictatorship that is still prevailing among the woodelves attempted to agitate the masses into a full-blown revolt. The wood elf team miserably failed to recognize the historic scale of these events and decided to take advantage of the Iron Avalanches' diversion. Tragically the 2 spontaneous riots had only short term effects and were not successful in their attempt to install an egalitarian, basic-democratic society. And the Avalanches didn't even kill a single Wood Elf. Deeply disturbed the Iron Avalanches somehow managed to escape and decided to reevaluate their methods and convictions. According to punk-philosopher Itor the core of the question remains why the suffering masses keep identifying with their oppressors and how these mechanisms work, are activated and can be cancelled. This pressing question - together with the odd bit of ruthless aggression & slaughter - will continue to provide the fertile ground upon which the philosophy manifested as the Iron Avalanches remains firmly planted. |
