| In 2482, the Doom Prophet John of Galactia foretold of a coming apocalypse in which an evil dragon would rise forth from the deep, and accompanied by a host of evils and plagues, would attempt to subdue the earth. It is said that Sigmar will descend from the heavens to do battle with the Dragon and many will be killed in the ensuing struggle. In 2483, a sect of Chaos cultists found a copy of John's prophecy and decided they would commit themselves to aiding the dragon in his fight, seeing the dragon as a symbol of Chaos Undivided. While the more militant aspects of the Cult of the Dragon forment rebellion and discord in the world's cities, others choose a more insidious route to the carnage and in 2495 founded the Blood Bowl team "Apocalypse of John". It is unknown exactly how many players have played for the "Apocalypse" so far. Each player wears a ritual costume and bears a ritual title, making it seem as though its players are immortal. Out of respect for the Dragon, the number 6 has been permanently retired in his honor so that there will be an open roster spot for him should he ever choose to amuse himself on the pitch before beginning the serious work of conquering the world.
