| After ten consecutive rounds of Wood Elf victories, <a href="http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=team&op=view&team_id=326379">Hooks Hoodlums</a> have put an end to their supremacy. The Hoodlums are the first Chaos team to win the Faction title and the first 'bashy' team to win it after the major changes to Faction. The road to the championship has been a fairly short one as the Hoodlums claim the title with only 48 games under their belt. Hook and his fellow hoodlums started out in Faction Q in round 89 and apart from a tough setback in thesecond game when <a href="http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=player&op=view&player_id=3857118">Captain Hook</a> was taken out by orcs, the team breezed through to F3 easily. In F3 things were looking well until the 5th and final <a href="http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=match&op=view&id=1564317">game</a> that round where they lost <a href="http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=player&player_id=3857119">Jafar</a> and barely got promoted to F2 on a cointoss for 8th place. In F2 the team rebuilt after the loss of Jafar and prospered promoting to F1 as the #1. So after a fairly short track, the Hoodlums arrived in Faction 1 during round 92. Though they were one of the lightweights of the division at that time they managed to secure the bronze medal in their first F1 round, partly by managing a <a href="http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=match&op=view&id=1595542">draw</a> against one of the best ever Faction teams, the <a href="http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=team&op=view&team_id=157676">Champions of Nature</a>. After winning the bronze and building up the team somewhat in round 92, it was immediately followed by a very poor round 93. The Hoodlums faced a lot of serious injuries and kills this round and spent almost the entire round low on numbers and fighting an uphill battle, only managing one victory. On a sidenote, the Hoodlums were one of the three teams brave enough to face the mighty <a href="http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=team&op=view&team_id=171461">Chaos Gods</a> that round. Round 94 saw very little of the Hoodlums as the coach was busy, but the two games the team played were enough to keep the team from relegating. This latest round saw one of the most tense battles for gold in recent history apart perhaps from <a href="http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=factions&round=52356&faction=1">round 84</a> which was decided on a cointoss. McMagnus' awesome Nurgle team <a href="http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=team&op=view&team_id=334623">Winnie-The-Pooh with friends</a> made it a close race with the Hoodlums till the end of the round. In the last game of the Hoodlums this round the Chaos team faced kalebin's <a href="http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=team&op=view&team_id=195148">Muerdeorejaz</a> in a <a href="http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=match&id=1660293">game</a> that could have been the one that put the championship in the bag. The game turned out differently. Apart from the loss, the Hoodlums saw three players bite the dust, two of which had been part of the original squad. Luckily for the Hoodlums, their opponent for the gold also stumbled in their last match as they were beaten by Purplegoo's <a href="http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=team&op=view&team_id=298990">Soul Calibers</a>. In the end the Hoodlums claimed the title with one game less but only 2 points more then McMagnus' Nurgle. What the future will hold in store for Hook and his Hoodlums is unknown, but they will try to jump back up from the recent losses and try to claim another faction title. |
