Indeed Imladris literally means "deep valley of the cleft" in the tongue of the long-lived. Many of the Elven folk believe that they should stay out of the "affairs of man" and rest withen their iydillic sanctuaries. Aloof and resistent to rash actions (as they see the behaviour of men) the Elves of Imladris are no different. The counsel of Elrond and other elders within their home have finally persuaded them to commit their efforts to assist in the securing of the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/One_Ring">One Ring</a> from the hands of <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sauron">Sauron</a>, and see the ring destroyed in the fires of Orodruin or <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Doom">Mount Doom</a> as it is more commonly known. The Imladris Isolationists will compete in the battle for the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rings_of_Power">Rings of Power</a>.
