Bloodrose, generally disliked for his mindless flamboyance and excessive drinking, wanted a blood bowl team of his own in order to gain popularity and make the name Bloodrose respectable again. The Har Ganeth Nighthawks were supposed to become the second great team in Har Ganeth (Har Ganeth Executioners being the first). Team recruting began and from the very beginning Bloodrose had trouble. No one wanted anything to do with the infamous drunk and only a few outcasts and a single ex-Excecutioner, Maracis Slice whose mind was permanently gone due to repeatedly succumbing to the pleasures of Slaanesh (and who was incidentally killed before training had even begun), bothered to show up for initial practice. It was not untill Bloodrose managed to hire former witch elf star Lorettha "Cold Lips" Malakhai (who had fallen from grace when she was defensive coordinator for the Black Sea Buccaneers and decided to cut the throat of the Bucs' owner Ezekiel Steelgrip after loosing a Smack semifinal) as head coach, that things began to get going for the Nighthawks. Cold Lips did not only bring much required leadership to the Nighthawks, but most of the Buccaneers fanbase followed her to Har Ganeth as well (the Bucs never did manage to rise again but were later reincarnated as Black Bay Buccaneers). Soon after Cold Lips' arrival young dark elves stood in line to play and the team began to develope. Following a promising training camp the first few games for the "next big thing in Har Ganeth" were disappointing and Bloodrose's boasting seemed to be nothing more than the foolish twitter of a degenerate drunk. After three games with only one win Cold Lips became very vocal about her discontent with the city of Har Ganeth and Bloodrose's role as self-appointed General Manager, telling the Har Ganeth Express in a big article that she of all people should know "how to deal with disobedient owners". The same day the article was printed Nathanael Bloodrose was found dead from a heart attack. His testament stated his sole heir to be Lorettha "Cold Lips" Malakhai. The events previous and subsequent to the death of Bloodrose are unclear to this day, but Cold Lips and the Nighthawks didn't waste any time and thus moved the entire HQ (including field, parking lot and training facilities) to the North Tower of Ghrond over night. Bloodrose's corpse was later reported missing from the morgue and rumour has it that it was devoured by Cold Lips during the sinister ritual performed to move the HQ. In Ghrond the team was named North Tower Nighthawks and went out of the public eye for a while, playing practice games and getting in shape. Cold Lips' lover,Pamela Voorhees became team captain and things were looking good for the promising but rather secretive Nighthawks. It is now well known that Cold Lips right from the get-go wanted to create a team that could compete and win in major tournaments and thus she grew a bleak reputation for paying more attention to harvesting money, building stars and keeping players alive than to actually win games. It was therefore even more of a blow to her when her controversial lover was killed in what was supposed to be a soft game against wood elves. It is said that Cold Lips following the events (and after killing a few assistent coaches) sat by her cat-piano*, coated in her dead lover's blood, playing the same chord over and over again for weeks. * A popular dark elf instrument that is basically a piano with nails and live, purebred kittens inside. It comes in various shapes and sizes and can be seen here Current Time: These days the Nighthawks are hated amongst the citizens of Har Ganeth, opposing coaches and regular blood bowl enthusiasts alike. The hatred in Har Ganeth naturally stems from the Nighthawks' sudden exit from the city while the general loathing in the blood bowl world has to do with Cold Lips' exorbitant ammount of elfbowling, use of illegal magic to keep players alive (known for various reasons as "birthday bowling") and general mockery of the noble sport. All this said the fans still love the Nighthawks' wicked ways and the most diehard followers can often be found outside the stadium the day before a game, enjoying "Hawk Night", a bloody celebration mirroring the carnage of the annual dark elf "Death Night". Latest News: The latest news from Nighthawks' press officer, Trólz Twintongue, tells us that after loosing a hard fought game in the first round of the Warpstone Open to the Orkoholics (decided by coin toss) and loosing both Urzula Razorkiss and star blitzer Jeremiah Tullaris in the process, the Hawks are looking onward and will work to get in shape for the next major. Merchandise: Now you can get your very own Nighthawks cap and T-shirt right here!

Helmet modified from an original design by the brilliant Bone Idol. |
