Some of you might remember Lumpin Croops Fighting Cocks from their mercenary days, they used to be the best, most famous (and only) halfling mercenary group. One day they were hired to retrieve an artifact from an old chaos temple, they accidently opened one of the ancient warpgates and had some unfortunate experiences in the void...Somehow however luck or bad luck what you can call it, good old ndly fell over a switch in the torture room, which made teh floor go away and somehow they ended up back in the old world, after this adventure their mercenary days were over, but adventure was in their blood, normal life in the shire was too boring, one day when they were relaxing outside they saw a ball-shaped object flying over the field followed by a crowd of men (reikland reavers), and this is how the ydiscovered the game of bloodbowl. Their adventurous blood once again boiled up and they started the game using their old name. Unfortunately after a couple of matches poor lumpin was mortally wounded, when he died they swore an oath to never quit, as an honour to good old lumpin...
