Right Wing Ghosts
P [L] Shambling Undead

The Right Wing Ghosts are a team made up of Swedish right wing politicians. Huragan and Al Gore have been raised from other teams. The team name refers to the concept of högerspöke (literally 'right wing ghost' or 'conservative ghost') which is a term used in Swedish politics when left wing politicians try to scare voters away from the conservatives by pointing out traditional, 'less sympathetic', conservative ideas which may or may not still be held by their opponents.

WINNERS OF THE AUGUST 2010 ANTIPODAL REGIONAL SHIELD

Tournament results

February 2011 Antipodal Regional Shield

Team was in good shape this month, but were completely nuffled in the first round, against Ancre's Towerhelms (cd). Regen worked well, but apart from that it couldn't have gone much worse. Nothing could be done, as Nuffle rolled on the floor laughing his arse off. Better luck next time!

January 2011 Antipodal Regional Shield

The Ghosts were in bad shape for this months tourney, but took part anyway, due to lack of coaches participating, and also because they needed to play in order to recover. They lost in the first round against Lemf's seen pie rotting, by 1-0, but the game was quite close and the team had victory in it's grasp until it finally slipped away towards the end of the second half. Being so close to winning while playing 25 TS down is a decent accomplishment. Now the team is in excellent shape for next month.

November 2010 Middenheim Challenge
The Ghosts made a reasonable comeback in Middenheim after General Marauder had been kind enough to offer them a recovery friendly. They won the first match but then lost the second one. A little bit needlessly I might add. It was against ZugarAmurdi's Asgard FL and they had a good shot at winning, but the bad luck started immediately in t1 and then just went on. Despite this, in the end of second half I had knocked out and cas'd most of his team and OT would have been a walk in the park. All I needed to do was stall and score, which didn't work. Zugar won and the Ghosts went home to curse Nuffle. The team is now at an awkward 172/145, which isn't really good for anything. I guess they'll have to take part in the ARS, but it's not looking good. One good thing: Both mummies have now gained block, which makes things a whole lot easier.

October 2010 Albion Regional Challenge

The team were utterly diced in a game v General Marauder's Soulless Revival, another Undead team. Göran Hägglund, a DP skeleton, and Jan Björklund, a rookie ghoul, died. Gunnar Hökmark, a blodge, guard and tackle mummy was SI'd and got -1 ST. Maud Olofsson didn't play. The team lost 2-0 and for a moment I considered retiring them altogether. But then I changed my mind, and decided to give them a makeover. I fired Hökmark and had earned just enough money to buy a new mummy, Olof Johansson. And I could finally bring myself to firing game winner ag5 ghoul Maud Olofsson, who had played all the Ghosts' 37 matches up until today. The team went down 40 TR and are now at a more comfortable ~150. Hopefully the four RR and the nicely skilled zombies will help the team win games at that level. The Ghosts live on!

September 2010 Bloodweiser Cup

Just as I expected the team lost their first game. This was in the OCCS Major, the Bloodweiser Cup. They played spiro's Dark Elves and weren't too far from winning, but lost 2-3. They managed to bash quite a lot, and so still got a few spp. They're in good shape for next month's Albion Challenge.

August 2010 Antipodal Regional Shield

The team has now existed for one year! And the month of their anniversary became a time for great celebration indeed, as the team took part in the ARS and came back on their feet with a vengeance! They won the tournament! This was their first such win and they became my third team ever to win a tournament on fumbbl, and the second ever in OCCS. There's only really one downside to their success, and that is that such a victory for a team made up of Swedish right wing politicians is not a good omen for the upcoming elections next month! They did, however, receive a sound beating from Chu's Voodoo Show, and will therefore likely not win their first match in September.

The final went into overtime. A few turns into the third half it looked increasingly grim, as player after player were knocked out or injured by Chu's necros. Maud Olofsson, the incredible ag5 ghoul, 'dumped off' the ball towards the opponent's end zone in an attempt to prevent their advancing wolves from seizing it from her. Both teams rushed for the ball, a number of players battling for it. Eventually, it was Olofsson herself who managed to pick up in one tz, dodge several times, and gfi once, to get it into the end zone for the winning td!

July 2010 Albion Regional Challenge

The RWG lost in the first round as usual, but this time they were actually quite close to winning. The game was highly affected by luck, first in their favour and then in the opponent's. The game was against lauth's Orcs. The best player of the team, the ghoul Bengt Westerberg, 52 spp and still unniggled, was killed. In addition, winnings were only 10k, which means the team is still 10k short of a new mummy! The Ghosts have been recovering from that horrible match against the Barak Varr Grudgebearers since January, and it appears they will spend yet another month in recovery mode.

April 2010 Albion Regional Challenge

The team lost in the first round against Flashback13's Gravel Fist, after having had rather bad luck and also admittedly made a number of silly mistakes. Still no new mummy, but after the next game, most likely.

March 2010 Albion Regional Challenge

The Ghosts lost in the first round and are clearly having a tough time right now. They are getting back in shape however.

February 2010 Antipodal Regional Shield

Hoping for a recovery game, the Ghosts were drawn against Vlokiera's Bash Your Brains In, which wasn't good news. Expecting to lose, and die trying, the Ghosts actually got pretty close to winning, getting as far as 2-2 at full time, getting to receive in the OT and then playing really badly, giving the ball to the opponent and losing in OT t5. With half the positionals gone for this game, the rest of them played well and the team avoided any serious injuries or deaths. Still no new mummy, but the Ghosts are slowly staggering back up on their feet.

January 2010 Albion Regional Challenge

The Ghosts were drawn against a filler for the first match and then lost really badly against GeneralMarauder's Barak Varr Grudgebearers. Probably the worst match in the history of the team. Arvid Lindman, the most skilled mummy on the team, was killed. Two well skilled Ghouls were niggled. The team only got 20k from the match, which means it's going to take ages to get enough money for a new mummy. The FF dropped. It's really hard to play against Dwarfs, with pretty much any team. Will the Ghosts ever be able to get back on their feet?

December 2009 Orca Cola Classic

The Ghosts got as far as the semi-finals, where they met a Dwarf team about 40 TR/TS above them. They were extremely close to scoring and taking the lead, but quadrouple skulls put an end to that, and it was an uphill struggle from then on. Still, semi-final is a good result and being able to afford a fourth reroll, the team is now in excellent shape, ready for next year's OCCS!

November 2009 Antipodal Regional Shield

The Ghosts were kicked out in the first match for the first time ever. They played against an Elf team and I made some bad moves in the early game, more or less giving the ball to the opponent. The Elves led by a comforting 2-0 after 5 or 6 turns. Then the Ghosts managed to get a td just before half time. I was lucky and got the ref twice, and at the end of the second half there were only two elves left standing on the pitch! Still, I had to make two gfi's without re-rolls to get that final td I needed to get into OT. An OT which I would have surely won, since I outnumbered him five to one. Of course, the second gfi was a 1, and thus ended the game in a rather shameful defeat for the Ghosts. They had smashed the opposition to bits, but it didn't help. They'll be back, however, next month!

October 2009 Antipodal Regional Shield

RWG took part in the Antipodal Regional Shield and got as far the quarter finals. After the tourney they were at 176 TR so they're staying in the ARS for the November round, after firing a faceless raised zombie and an assistant coach.

September 09 Middenheim Challenge

The team got as far as the semi-finals this time, playing well throughout the tournament. In the semi-final they played a bad first half against the Ulthuan White Guard and were down 2-0. They managed to regain this disadvantage and the score was tied in turn 13. But they didn't manage to stop the elven counter-offensive and sadly lost by 3-2. The RWG are finally back at a full roster with all positionals, and they will now have to move on from Middenheim to higher levels!

August 09 Middenheim Challenge

The Right Wing Ghosts ended up in second place, losing the final against another undead team, the Dirt Nap Commandos, who were in many ways the better team. Still, second place is a nice achievement and the RWG are staying in Middenheim for the September round of the Challenge.
