"A long time ago, in a gal..." I mean there was a time when elves, dwarfs and men lived in harmony with each other. Even the dark races of the Old World seemed to honor the peace with doing nothing more than taunt the forces of Good. After that however came a bitter conflict which shattered the realms and the very existence of the world was in danger. From then on, the races fought each other on the battlefields on the seas and in the skies... Also they fought each other on the pitch :)))
That was the time when an ancient guardian spirit of the Wood Elves appeared to an individual and showed him the way to master the art of the GAME. This spirit was named Asha and the individual raised an altar in her remembrance.
Soon after that the coach started to gather skilled elves to teach them another way of fighting. He knew that blood had to be given as sacrifice to feed the races' hunger for it, but insisted that this could be done without doing mortal damage to the population and the world itself. His warriors (who in the preparation period were the guardians of Asha's altar) became the famous Blood Bowl team of their people. They are the Sentinels of Asha...
And they are bound to have a glorious fate ;)
