<td><p align="left"><font color="gold" face="Avalon,Wide Latin"><b>The Altdorf Avantgarde was first called into play to promote a league based in Altdorf. Founded by Karl-Franz himself he had headhunters search the old world for the best human players he could find and build a team that was to win the Altdorf BloodBowl Leage of Excellence.
Unfortunately the humans were unprepared for a league that mainly consisted of Undead Teams in their variety and ended up suffering more than a few losses, both in limb and in points.
When the first season was over, the Avantgarde had nothing to show for, so Karl-Franz' interest in Bloodbowl died down just as quickly as it had started.

Nowadays the Team is coached by Liondriel Moonshade, former coach of several modestly successful elven Teams. He saw a great potential for a team that could throw the ball as well as take and dish out a good hit, a quality he failed to find in his elven brethren.

It remains to be seen how sucessul the Avantgarde will be this time.</p>

In only their third game, the first player died on the pitch. None other than Friedrich Sägbrecht, the older of the two Sägbrecht twins was carried off dead. The fans honored him by making him the MVP of the game. His brother, enfuriated by his twins death, threw a few nasty blocks along with two complete passes and 10 yards in both passing and rushing. Friedrichs name will be held in honor by the Avantgarde for a long while.
